STOUT

1 Ib, extract of malt

4 oz. black malt grains

1 teaspoonful granulated yeast

1 Ib. brown sugar pieces

1 1/2 oz. dried hops

1 gallon water (soft if possible)

Boil the malt grains, hops and sugar in the water for thirty minutes, then strain and stir in the malt extract. When cool, add the yeast, ferment, prime and bottle for three weeks.
